Sampai di bandar Cardiff. Orang ramai kelihatan tanda perkembangan ekonomi yang positif.

MELAWAT AL MANAR CENTER

Al-Manar Centre is one of Ahlus-Sunnah organisations, which was established in Cardiff city in Britain during the month of Rajab, year 1412 AH (1992 AD).

2 - 4 Glynrhondda St, Cathays, Cardiff CF24 4ANChoosing to establish the Centre in this particular city was for many considerations, the most important being the fact that a large community of Muslims resides there. The divers Muslim community in Cardiff consists of people who are originally from Somalia, Yemen, Pakistan, Bangladesh and other Arab countries, plus the fact that there is a large number of students doing higher studies at Cardiff university. The number of the local Muslims is estimated at eleven thousand plus the students whose numbers vary from time to time.
The Centre also plays a humble role in introducing the non-Muslim population of Britain to the religion of Islaam.
Al-Manar Centre is a registered charity with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, offering its services to the community at large and, al-hamdulillaah, has improved its performance over the years.

*INTRODUCTION, HISTORY DISCUSSION AND DIALOGUE

The history of migration and settlement of Muslims in Cardiff

Background introduction

There has been a long presence of Muslims in South Wales, going back to the mid 1800s. This is due to the productivity of the South Wales coalfields and the strategic importance of Cardiff in the international maritime trade during the 19th Century. Muslims have been living and working out of South Wales for generations, and there are particularly strong links with the Yemen, Somalia and Bangladesh. The is historical settlement makes Cardiff very important in the study of Islam in the UK, since patterns of migration, employment and religious development can be traced over a long period of time.

Paradoxically, there has been virtually no research about the history of Islam and Muslims in Wales. The available information documents the settlement of Muslims through the particular lens of employment, migration and local history. The religious character and development of the community is therefore often peripheral or incidental in writings that otherwise concentrate upon the economic and labour contribution that Muslims have made to the maritime trade. Both locally and nationally, Muslims are remarkably unaware of their history. There is little appreciation of the historical links between Britain and the Muslim world, and the strategic importance of Cardiff is recognised even less.

En Shapetem kakitangan Muslim College turut menyertai rombongan kami. Selepas kami makan tengah hari beliau memperdengarkan bacaan al Quran surah Ad Duha secara tarannum
